Is ceramic fiber the highest-temperature option in the range?
Yes. 1050 °C long-term operating temperature, above special glass fiber at 1000 °C and basalt fiber at 600 °C. On semantics: all three now use "long-term operating temperature" and are directly comparable. Basalt also has an "800 °C maximum" figure, which is a different semantics and must not be conflated. 1. The TDS says 1200 °C continuous service, which disagrees with the website's 1050 °C. The website governs; the TDS needs updating. See data governance. 2. Actual usability also depends on installation, fixing, airflow and equipment design.
Can it be used on electrical cables?
No. Ceramic fiber tape contains 8% metal wire. Both its TDS and the website explicitly prohibit use on electrical systems and cable insulation, and it must not be presented as electrical insulation.
